SUMMER 2024

Join the Alabama Dance Theatre Tutus & Tiaras is a fairytale ballet summer camp for pre-ballet students ages 3-8. Each day starts with a ballet class followed by a creative movement class. Different arts and crafts are chosen for each day as well as story-time accompanied by coloring sheets. We also study famous classical ballets and the pantomime they use to tell the stories. At the end of the summer camp, a performance will be held at the Armory Learning Arts Center at 12:00PM. They will receive a tutu, tiara, and wand for their participation.

The Alabama Dance Theatre will be offering summer classes in classical ballet (pre-ballet to the professional level), Pointe, Variations, Composition/Choreography, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and Broadway. Summer is the perfect time to continue your training. We offer classes starting at ages 3 and up. For more information call (334) 625-2590 between the hours of 1 PM and 7 PM.

The Alabama Dance Theatre rounds out its summer with a two-week summer intensive. Take the opportunity to learn from a carefully selected Master Faculty brought in to teach classes such as Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop. Your dancer will take two classes in the morning and then have an afternoon filled with rehearsals. This intensive ends with "Stars on the Riverfront," a performance at the Downtown Riverwalk Amphitheater. 

This free performance takes place in downtown Montgomery at the picturesque Riverwalk Amphitheater. This performance is the culmination of our two-week summer intensive. The performance showcases the diverse range of dance with usually an excerpt from a famous ballet and then ends with a more contemporary section. Bring a picnic, blanket, and the whole family. Food Trucks will be onsite as well!

Want to be a part of our performing season? Requirements for auditioning are ages 11 and up with at least one year on point. Auditions will be held at the Armory Learning Arts Center, the home of the Alabama Dance Theatre. Being a member of the Alabama Dance Theatre is a huge commitment that starts August 2024 through August 2025. Company Members are automatically cast in all ADT performances. Dancers will also be able to participate in the prestigious Regional Dance America Southeast Festival.
